Rue Massena is part of the pedestrianized area running from Place Massena in the east to Rue du Congrès in the west. There’s always plenty going on here, whatever the time of year. There’s a very wide range of shops, from fashion outlets to major retailers, as well as cafés with outdoor seating, bars and restaurants the whole length of Rue Massena and Rue de France. One of the oldest pizzerias in Nice is found here! It has to be said that it’s a great spot for food, with reliable, all-year-round sunshine and large outdoor terraces being a major part of the attraction. These terraces are heated during the winter-time, making them a pleasant place to enjoy lunch, dinner or just a drink, regardless of the season.
Place Magenta and
its adjoining streets have just as many opportunities for retail therapy. Walk
down Rue Paradis towards the sea and you’ll pass the top names in luxury goods.
Alternatively, you may prefer to head north, via Rue Longchamp, Rue de la Liberté
or Rue Alphonse Karr.
All these shops are just a few metres from the pedestrianized area.
