TOC NICE: A MUST FOR ACCESSORIES

TOC stands for Trouble Obsessionnel Culinaire (“Obsessive-Culinary Disorder”): the name alone says it all. Here, everything is dedicated to the top French brands of kitchen utensils and accessories. And of course, barbecue takes pride of place!

We went to the TOC shop on Rue de la Liberté in Nice, where Carole and Sylvain showed us the “Marcel” wood-fired oven. For outdoor use, it will delight fans of pizzas, socca, homemade breads and much more. It’s perfect for anyone who wants to recapture the spirit of the bread ovens of yesteryear.

Next stop is their second TOC shop, on the corner of Place Saint-François: it’s like stepping into an Ali Baba’s cave dedicated to food lovers. The perfect place to find the accessories that will make you a barbecue master. The choice is so vast that we asked Heddy, an experienced advisor, where to start…

His favourite? The Big Green Egg barbecue. It looks like a dinosaur egg, but it’s actually a barbecue! Available in 4 sizes, from small to XL, it grills, roasts, sears, smokes, steams or stews. Who’d have thought you could cook in an egg?
